Area Office on Aging website rated best in nation in Mature Media design competition

The Area Office on Aging (AOoA) was chosen as having the best Website for those age 50 and over in the nation with its selection as the Best of Show National Mature Media Award winner in the Website category. The National Mature Media Awards is the nation’s largest awards program that annually recognizes the best marketing, communications, educational materials, and programs for adults age 50 and older. The Area Office on Aging’s website was selected out of about 1,000 entries that were judged by a panel of mature market experts from across the country for overall excellence of design, content, creativity, and relevance to the senior market. This website beat out competing entries from national giants like AARP, as well as senior housing organizations like National Lutheran Communities, insurance companies, hospices, home care companies, and many others.The development of the brochure was a joint effort between the AOoA and Madhouse Creative LLC. Ohio Living Swan Creek celebrates 25 years of pioneer spirit with open house

Today’s residents of Ohio Living Swan Creek, located at 5916 Cresthaven Lane in Toledo, enjoy access to resort-like surroundings; multiple levels of care on the same campus; a wide variety of social, cultural, and educational activities; and a host of other services and amenities. But in January of 1992, when the very first residents moved into what was then a brand-new retirement community, they had no idea what they were getting themselves into. In fact, this handful of early residents who had ventured into the unknown began to call themselves “pioneers.”

Silent Witness exhibit to appear at Franciscan Center October 2

Since 2001, the Northwest Ohio Silent Witness Project has been committed to honoring the memories of girls and women from our community who were victims of domestic violence and murdered by current or former spouses, dating partners, or stalkers. During this time, the BGSU Women’s Center housed and maintained the Silent Witness Project.

The Elizabeth Scott Community introduces sign-on bonus program

In an effort to attract top-quality talent, in late August the Elizabeth Scott Community introduced a sign-on bonus program for new hires. The position targeted was third-shift nursing assistants, and new hires that met the qualifications could earn a sign-on bonus of up to $4,000. The program ended on September 30, 2017 for those job candidates.

Fieldstone Villas at Sunset Village is soon to expand
